On 12 December 2018 techUK and partners will bring together academics, philosophers, lawyers, technology experts, policy makers and other key stakeholders at techUK second annual Digital Ethics Summit
The aim of this year’s Summit is to assess the progress made over the last twelve months to build the capacity and capabilities needed to recognise, identify and address digital ethical issues and concerns. It will consider whether the practical action that has been taken is enough and discuss what more may be needed. It will assess whether the current public engagement on ethical issues is being successful and ask whether additional ethical foresight and action may be needed to identify the public’s real ethical concerns. The Summit will also showcase the progress being made by industry to develop simple tools and solutions businesses need to embed ethical decision making within organisations.
This must attend event is organised by techUK in partnership with the Royal Statistical Society, Wellcome Trust, Royal Society, British Academy, University of Oxford Data Ethics Lab, Open Data Institute, the RSA, The Alan Turing Institute and the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence and The Nuffield Foundation’s Ada Lovelace Institute.
Gemserv are proud to be one of the sponsors of this event, with our Head of Privacy and Data Protection, Ivana Bartoletti presenting in one of the breakout session “Ethics in practise – Business”.
