Gemserv recently announced the appointment of Alex Goody as its new Chief Executive, following an open and competitive recruitment process.
Alex is currently Gemserv’s Director of Business Development & Consultancy having joined the Company in 2012 and has a background in business development, strategy and marketing across energy, insurance, and information technology industries. He commenced his career at the energy company, Amerada Hess, and prior to joining Gemserv worked for the insurance group, Domestic & General, in various senior and international management roles. He has been an Executive Director on Gemserv’s Board since 2016.
Announcing his appointment, Meriel Lenfestey, Chair of Gemserv said:
“I have been impressed by the quality and breadth of candidates expressing interest in becoming Gemserv’s Chief Executive as part of our comprehensive search. In appointing Alex, we have a leader who will bring a powerful combination of an in-depth understanding of the Company with a new perspective and enthusiasm to evolve Gemserv against a backdrop of immense change in the energy and data sectors.”
Alex Goody said:
“This is a very exciting time for Gemserv following on from a record year for revenues in 2017/18 supported by a significant growth in new, sustainable business: a direct result of Gemserv’s strategy to invest in broadening their capabilities. This provides a strong foundation for the future, and I look to forward working with my colleagues, our clients, and stakeholders to accelerate my ambition to embrace the increasing pace of change so to support energy market transformation and the data revolution.”
Alex’s appointment follows the decision of our current Chief Executive, David Thorne, to step down this summer after eight years of service in that role. Alex will be taking up his new position in mid-July with David managing the transition over the coming months.
