Gemserv response to the Consultation on the Renewable Heat Incentive: Biomass combustion in urban areas

This is Gemserv’s response to the BEIS consultation on the ‘Renewable Heat Incentive: biomass combustion in urban areas’. We responded to this consultation using the online survey. We have answered all questions and expanded on recommendations where appropriate.

Gemserv is integral to the operation of many Government and industry led energy efficiency and renewable programmes, including the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), the Green Deal and the Biomass Suppliers List (BSL), which supports the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). Gemserv’s wide-ranging expertise, including 15 years as a central industry body, means that we are involved in many of the major policy developments and industry initiatives across the energy sector.
